more than fifty percent of the school age children that attend a school in the
Coachella Valley Unified School District are overweight or obese. The larger numbers of students
have several factors in common such as: nutrition high in saturated fats,
refined carbohydrates and very little to no physical activity. Obesity among
teenagers at Desert Mirage High School is
on the rise due to the factors mentioned above. |
